Seidel Walnut Bison
Setting off on dome ’23, I knew I wanted a plan. Wear them every day? That didn’t sound like the nicest plan for the boots or my feet. Settle on a strict every other day schedule? A little too regimented for my tastes. Then I asked myself: what do the boots want to do? And I made sure I took them along on all those adventures. So while these boots saw plenty of time on the streets of Portland where we make our home, they really became what they are today in the mountains of eastern Oregon. They went deer and elk hunting in the late fall. They tentatively walked over an icy pond in winter. They hiked four miles through a late snow after I high centered an atv (the boots didn’t do that, that one’s on me). Now that spring has almost sprung, they’ve been clearing downed trees from forest roads and searching for shed antlers. The chainsaw and the field boots are best friends now. And after the dome ends, the adventures continue: next week they’re going on a spring turkey hunt. Other boots in the dome might have seen more use, but none are more fulfilled.
