If you would’ve told me that a random video of a boot being cut in half would lead to a a leather boot obsession I would have thought you were crazy. But here I am a little over a year later, 40 pairs and counting and running out of space. The Patina Thinderdome was a blessing in disguise, forcing me to focus on one pair and really letting me uncover an even deeper appreciation for the leather than i thought possible. This model 1992 service boot in natural cxl from Monroeheritage was the first ever pair of custom made boots ive ever owned. The excitement I felt when they came in the mail is indescribable and each day seeing how they darkened and evolved was a really cool experience. This competition really made me feel for the first time like i could share this nerdy boot obsession with people and be met with an equal excitement on the other end as well. All Ihave left to say is that its been a wonderful 6 months and can’t wait to donit again next year.
