Wickett & Craig Natural Double Stuffed
I received some unexpected interior “patina” this morning in my Thunderdome boots(unsponsored content) Yesterday evening, as I was hanging up some shirts in my closet, I noticed a pretty large cockroach on the upper closet rail. We have an exterminator come out once a month, but living in the southeast on a heavily wooded piece of property, we tend to get a lot of insects and critters that occasionally get into the house. Trying to figure out how I’m going to kill this insect that is on the top edge of the rail with hangers all the way across and shirts below, I slowly grabbed a refined Viberg slide off of the shelf to use as a weapon. Unfortunately, with the height of the rail and my barely 6 foot stature (5'11.5"), I could not get up high enough to slap it with a slide, so I grabbed a boot bag (old Common Projects) to try to grab it. As you can imagine, I am not quick enough or tall enough to get a cockroach, and it scurried off somewhere. Fast forward to this morning. I get ready as usual, put on my medium-weight Darn Tough wool socks, slide my right boot on, and slide my left boot on. As I’m walking downstairs, I feel something at the front of my left boot, just in front of my pinky toe. It feels like maybe some lint or maybe the thin Pedag insert has shifted forward. Then I remembered I don’t have inserts in these boots, so I pulled my boot off, tipped it upside down, shook it, and a squished dead roach fell out.
