I have been really concerned the last few weeks about how low the water level is here. Turns out the state has been manipulating the sluice gates for a public works project to reinforce the boardwalk. Our quiet little river town had some very serious flooding last year. At its highest, water was maybe 8 feet from the bottom of that bridge in the background.
