Nicks Unlisted Model

I have a love-hate relationship with boots. I love the leather; all leathers. I hate the ordering and price; oh the anxiety about getting it right. I love the heft, and how it feels walking in them. I hate putting them on and taking them off; my OCD-ness about the lacing gets my wife's eyes rolling. But my absolute favorite thing about boots, is strangely the break-in process. The romantic idea that a pair of fabulously-made boots is being molded to my ankles and feet; every step that I take articulating the leather; my feet slowly leaving permanent footprints in the footbed, drives me to take more steps than is necessary. Every roll, every crease, every scuff, mine. Now, after six months, my Nicks are now part of a rare, hallowed membership of legendary footwear: 2022-23 Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome Finisher.
