Red Wing 8-Inch Classic Moc

I chose my Red Wing boots because I wanted a pair of boots that could handle whatever I threw at them. I am renovating an old house for my son in my spare time and wore these when I removed 150-year-old plaster from the walls and ceiling of a room, and also to do some reconstructive framing in another room and attic space. I planted trees in a new park with these boots, mowed the lawn, and applied fertilizer. I wore them to a football game in sub-freezing condition (and in a post-game picture I got with the offensive linemen). Whenever they got dirty or dusty, I just brushed them off. They got brushed a lot. Most of the time though, I wore them around the house for long days (15-16 hours was pretty common) and took the dogs out for their walks. We had a very mild winter so I only shoveled the snow once or twice in them. These boots were pretty easy to care for. They had to be cleaned with saddle soap after the plaster removal left them completely covered in gritty dust. And I gave them a light conditioning after about 4-5 months. Most of the time I just brushed them, with an occasional damp cloth if things were really stuck. I am happy with the comfort of these boots and they have held up well. The gradual transformation in color has given them some nice caramel tones, and I really like the gradual color transition from lighter at the top to darker on the bottom. Now that the weather is warming up I will be wearing these as I complete yard work and start the next phase of renovations in the old house.
