Red Wing Iron Ranger

So i’m from Malaysia so it’s pretty humid here. It’s either raining or super hot and a little cloudy in between. So i did condition them a few times and did a lot of brushing, mainly cuz this is my first and only pair of heritage boots thus far so it gets all the attention haha. Quite a lot of loose grain, perhaps because I’m not sure if I got the sizing right. With thick socks or medium socks I can get away with wearing them but I feel like they may be a half size too big. Usually in sneakers I’m a 12.5 US, 13 US in Nikes. So a little on the wider side. In my country they don’t have EE widths for the IR. Admittedly I did put in some thick RW arch support insoles initially but since these are well broken in I took the insoles out. I do get a little tired from wearing and walking in them for almost half a day out, I think it’s cuz the leather insole hasnt taken the imprint of my foot well enough due to the arch insoles. Not to say the boots aren’t comfy, they do offer a lot of support and my toes can splay out while I’m wearing them with thick socks. After almost a year I think i’m ready to try boots from other makers. Regardless, I love these boots and I wouldn’t part from them. Wish there was a leather midsole for extra comfort and support, but I can’t complain. Certainly love how this boot ages and I think I am getting better at caring for them. I’ll try to post more.
