Horween Color 8 Shell Cordovan
I’m extremely happy with my Role Club Townsman Boots. I have one hour left to write my thoughts, so I’ll do my best! ## Fit The initial fit didn’t work for me, but after some adjustments, Brian was able to turn it around into the best damn fitting boots I’ve ever walked in. This caused a late start in November, but getting these boots right was my priority. These are the first boots where I feel like I truly have ample pinky room. I also had extra arch support added, and this was the first pair where the arch support was only on the inner arch of the foot, kind of like a Superfeet Blue insole, except built into the boot. I find it more comfortable than the White’s 55 Arch-Ease, which is one of my favorite fits. My feet just never get tired walking in these boots. ## Design The design works very well for me. I wanted Horween shell this time around, as well as my first burgundy pair, and it just so happened that Brian only had Color 8 shell on hand. We had just enough time to build something for the Thunderdome, so there was no time to order anything specific. I went with the Townsman model because my style has been walking a fine line between vintage military and dress. My favorite models are the Alden Indy and the White’s Semi-Dress, and it just so happens that the Townsman boot is a hybrid of both of these models—Brian’s own words! I had a custom toe stitch added, and while it turned out more “pointy” than I had envisioned, it did grow on me, and I enjoy how it has aged over time. Overall, I feel like these boots pushed my personal style in a direction I am enjoying. ## Fin Finally—It’s been an honor to create a home for the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome. Thank you to Stitchdown and all the sponsors for making this possible, and especially to everyone who stuck with us, as we evolved Patina Project to put everyone’s boot journeys out into the world!
