Tobacco Gladiator Oil-Tanned
These aren't my first pair of Thorogood work boots, and they will not be my last either. Thorogood's are my go to boot for a hard working, throw anything at, work boot. The comfort right out of the box is something that I really appreciate from these boots. Being in the agriculture industry and working in the field, I'm able to utilize the wedge sole for its original intended purpose. I don't track mud in and out of warehouses or my truck with these soles. The sole also makes it comfortable while working on my feet all day long. The leather is as tough as it gets and also, at the same time, one of the softest, most supple leathers I've ever experienced. The 8" shaft has prevented me from rolling my ankles more than a few times and for that I'm thankful. Being a heavy duty workboot during the winter months, I had to treat these boots about once a month with a coat of mink oil and beeswax. This treatment makes them virtually waterproof and prevented any water from ever reaching my socks, keeping me dry the whole wet season. I crawled in these boots, walked long distances, stood for hours in the rain, and completed many eight plus hour workday in these Thorogoods. They never let me down once. I had a great experience with these work boots and had a really fun time in the dome. Although I love the Thorogood's and they will always be a staple in my work boot selection, I can't help but wonder what I will choose for next year's Patina Thunderdome.
