Maryam T. Moro Horsebutt
Where should I begin? For starters this has been an amazing experience. I wasn’t able to participate in the first Patina Thunderdome. I was just starting to wear some of the higher end footwear and was learning a lot. I’m still learning. I had gone from Red Wing to Blundstone. then to Truman and Nicks, Whites, Franks, Alden I finally began to look at a different style of boot that I admired but wasn’t sure that I could pull off. The Engineer boot. Those things looked so amazing. The straps, the tall shafts, The silhouette was very classic. Around this time I had learned about the Patina Project and the Thunderdome competition. I wanted Maryam Toscanello Horsehide but no one had this leather that I could order. I decided to order another pair in a different leather for the contest. I ordered a pair of T Moro Brown horsehide Mr Lou engineer boots custom made. Just before the contest I saw that there were Toscanello Mr Lou boots in stock! I was certain that I wanted to wear these for the Thunderdome so I ordered them in the proper size. I knew that I could enter 2 pairs in the contest so these were my 2 pair that I would wear. Being able to be a part of this with all of you has been something that I didn’t think I’d be able to do at all. I’ve loved every minute of wearing these boots and seeing all of the other boots develop into awesome footwear. I would love to be able to go to Japan and get a pair of Clinch boots. They are my grail boots. I’d love to be able to say that these Black Overdyed Clinch boots are the ones that I won at the Thunderdome contest. I don’t know if I will win. I don’t know if I will even place at all, but I can say this. I’m proud of my boots. I’m proud that I finished this contest and I will always remember these boots were the ones that I was able to show the world in this Patina Thunderdome! Good luck to everyone and thank you for this opportunity!
