Horween Brown Waxed Flesh

What a journey! I have walked in these boots every day since the beginning, putting on roughly 2-3 miles a day. They've seen everything Michigan weather can throw at them, from the snow and ice to the mud and torrential downpours (also lots of salt, which I cleaned off constantly). I probably looked insane walking through half of it in classy boots and a duffle coat, but hey. To wear, they started off as these really thick, rigid, blister dealing waxed flesh monsters and eventually gave way to a far more forgiving and comfortable experience. The Dr. Soles Supergrip™ outsoles were also pretty crazy, gripping better on ice than any boot I've worn, though the sheer density of the material underfoot took some getting used to. Visually, they've gone from the darkest brown color I've ever seen and perhaps this dressy glossed look to something that almost resembles an antique, with rusty tones of nappy suede breaking through the surface. In some areas, its completely taken over (like where I cross my legs, the left ankle you can see is completely worn). In terms of maintenance, really I just brush any dirt off, use a wet towel for the salt, and hit the outsole join/edges with Sapphir Rennovateur in order to darken the edges and hide any scuffs. Overall, these waxed flesh XBXS 007s are a dream boot for me personally and will continue to look better and better. I will definitely continue wearing them and treating them right!
