I’ve worn my Nora boots almost every day since I started the Dome. At the office, on my walks with my dog, and on errand days! They have seen 3 seasons in NYC - fall, winter, and spring, rain or shine.

Care Routine

The leather has truly held up well throughout my time wearing the boots. The patina has a uniqueness to it that I have not seen in my other boots, turning them into a beautiful golden brown. Break-in took about 1.5 weeks, with my daily step count average at 15k steps. My husband helped me take care of them by brushing them with a horsehair brush monthly.

Satisfied with the Fit

The Luna Last is absolutely perfect. I was nervous to get a boot that is my exact shoe size, but the Grant Stone website suggested getting the Nora Boots in the same size as your regular shoe. I am so glad I trusted that advice, as I was comfortable wearing the boots every single day after the break-in process. There is ample toe box room and support at the arch and heel.

The Nora Boot has a classic design that allows me to wear it anywhere, casual or a little more upscale. This is my first Grant Stone experience, and I am impressed with the construction, durability, and finish of the boots. They have held up through 6 months of almost daily wear, throughout rain, and even a few days of snowfall.

The sole of the Nora Boot is sturdy, comfortable, and durable. The only downside I found was that the traction was not up to par - it felt slick when walking outside in the rain, even if it was just drizzling. Although the Nora Boot isn’t designed as a rain or winter boot, the sole should have provided enough traction to prevent slipping.

Good Value

As a first-timer participating in the Patina Thunderdome, it’s been a great experience. My husband always raved about Goodyear-welted boots, and wearing the Grant Stone Nora Boots for the last 6 months has helped me understand why. I’ve definitely gained a deeper appreciation for leather and how it patinas. Looking forward to getting another pair of Grant Stone shoes and participating in the next Dome!
