After ordering the moc toe derby from Mikhail from Arno, I really wanted a boot. This boot make up came together in a couple of days as Mikhail wanted to use a piece of black cherry bison hide. I thought a Galway like boot would look good when combined with the bison and a bit of horsebutt.
Went with 46.5 as my previous pair fits pretty well. Some adjustments were made to the last to better fit my odd fit.
I've worn this pair mostly at the office at my standing desk or walking out the clinic. I would also take a short walk during lunch or some mild yard work as well
Maryam TPR Horsebutt is firm and tough, especially with the shall in the vamps. TPR has definitely aged by fading a touch and becoming more matte. The rolls in the vamps are the best part of this pair to be honest.
This is my first time having bison and it is soft and comfortably even being thick. Zero patina just some beautiful subtle creasing.
This is one of the wider lasts that Arno shoe offers but also has some adjustments in the medial lateral toebox. It's lightly hugs the heel and is very comfortable from the get go.
Obviously the EG Galway was the inspiration with this pair, and Mikhail did a wonderful job planning and building. I was interested in the Burgundy HB and he really wanted to use the bison and we found a model where we could have both meet.
Not complaints here, has help up well for the life of the contest.
Comfortable and pretty hard wearing.
Mikhail at Arno shoes is a wonderful builder to work with! He is responsive, friendly and has very unique models and loves to experiment with leathers. I often just talk to him about the pairs he are currently making and talk about future pairs that we can make. I would highly recommend Arno shoes for a unique experience for a variety of different patterns.
