I have worn these boots in every condition and they performed flawlessly
The break in was really easy as they were comfortable right out of the box. Shifting while driving was kind of rough for the first 2 weeks because the leather was fairly stiff around the ankle and calf. I thought the leather was a little bright at first but you have to trust the process and oh boy did they patina well.
The length and width was perfect but there is a decent amount of heel slip. So I order a set of leather insoles right from nicks and they alleviated a lot of the volume and the heel slip was reduced to a more comfortable level.
Everything about the construction of this boot was spot on. Nicks does a great job with their products.
A lot of people hate on the 430 sole for being too hard but with that it doesn’t have premature wear from being too soft. I think the 430 sole is an overall great sole for me. It has great traction for what it is and with the added insole they are more comfortable.
The block heel is a personal preference that I like although I would try a dogger heel
Overall Nicks puts out an excellent product of extremely high quality and I probably will order another set of Stationmasters in another leather.
