Why I own this

Custom
Style

Having the opportunity to design my own makeup was something I'd never done before and this was going to be, by far, the most significant footwear purchase I had ever made. I wanted to get something that could be a reliable and stylish day to day boot and I wouldn't keep for "special occasions" but still had a unique flair and design.

How I sized

Online Guide
Other

I made my delightful wife measure my feet and take photos and then talked with Nathan about what we thought the best size would be.

Incredible. I had a group of trusted advisors I met through SDP who helped design the makeup and then discussed with Nathan and allowed for his insight to help further refine.

Wet Conditions

Mostly day to day wear in Toronto which means any combination of weather. Wore them for work and with clients. Wore them to ride bikes.

Color Change

The break-in was remarkably easy. No real issues I can recall. The leather has aged extremely well and absolutely changed with time. A grey/green/brown to start has now turned into a deep brown which can still deceive depending on the light. Relatively frequent brushing and a couple of conditions.

Satisfied with the Fit

Like a MFing glove. I suspect people would suggest they are a smidge too small but I really love they way they feel.

Craftsmanship

Absolutely too notch. Incredible attention to detail. Held up remarkably well. The leather feels so good and the boot is so sturdy.

Sole & heel

Durability
Design
Traction

Sole seems to have enough grip, could be a little grippier. Love the colour as it adds a nice flourish. The outside heel has worn disproportionately but that happens with all my footwear. It's worn slower than Ridgeway but faster than Danite.

Final thoughts

Would Recommend

These boots have been exactly what I was hoping for. I still get joy every time I put them on and telling the story about them equally intrigues and baffles non-boot people. Seeing the rolls develop has been an absolute treat.
