I've worn these for pretty much everything. To work, light hiking, boy scout campouts, and everything in between.
Initially it didn't matter what I did the leather didn't show really any wear at all other than the one dark mark on the toe from where my dog licked them. The leather was soft and easy to break in and I only brushed them with a horse hair brush. Before final pictures I put a bit of pecards on the edges of the soles.
