Use & wear

Primarily on the job as a carpenter, a little hiking.

Leather

Horween Brown Chromexcel

Started very dark, lightened with age. Soft and comfortable. Used Bick 4 and a cloth.

Fit

Added Insoles
Length Feels Right
Volume Feels Right
Ball Feels Right
Satisfied with the Fit

Lots of room in the toe box. Good overall, I wish it gripped my heel a little more. I used a Superfeet insole.

Sole & heel

The sole is great! I love the traction, and having the cork in there is really neat.

Final thoughts

I wore these boots for six months on a flat roof job in the downtown district of a small city. The job was incredibly complex logistically, keeping the businesses open below while we fixed portions of the framing above. Stopping traffic, escorting old ladies to their hair appointments, trying to find parking for trailers when the yoga studio was in session, battling termites in the nail salon, keeping dust out of the restaurant, the stories from this job are many. I had to cover a lot of ground, running down below, up above, putting miles in each day. The lightness of the camp boots were welcome. They offered the traction I needed without the weight. The boots are beautiful, Oak Street has done a good job. I do wish they were taller, being designed more for hiking, the lack of shaft height means I get sawdust and debris down into the boots over the course of the day. We are wrapping up the roof job this month, as the dome comes to a close. These boots will always be tied to a this little season of life. I am grateful.
