Why I own this

Ready To Wear

I really like the Edward style from a look perspective and I find the fit of the last to be spot on. Overall the boot leans more dressy which works for my style. I also love green and these strike a balance between brown, with a hint of green which makes them very versatile for my outfits.

I have a few different pairs of Edward’s, my first pair were too big, I got remeasured on a Brannock and found I have different size feet and that the going with 8D would be ideal.

Customer Service

Smooth sailing - I was going to dome Edward’s in dark oak rough out till this released and I did an exchange since I prefer smooth leathers. Grant Stone customer service came through in time.

In the short time I have had these as my daily drivers they have seen a variety of experiences. They started out with office wear, then it was into the arid mountains on a hot days while walking the dog and then during an extended drive. That was followed by wearing them to my high school reunion where it rained the whole time.

Break-In

Break in has not been difficult. I feel like they’re experiencing pretty limited creasing compared to other cxl boots I have.

Satisfied with the Fit

I’m a big fan of the fit of the Edward boot. I find it to fit me the best of the grant stone styles, with the diesel being second. I find these very comfortable even with the thick leather insole. I have good room in the toe box, nothing pinched. I tend to wear thicker socks with these, usually the Wolverine boot socks or darn tough hiking socks.

I really really like the design of the Edward. It being a bit more dressy fits my style which leans more business/smart casual. I typically prefer the micro stud sole for looks, but for this dome time period I need the utility of lug. I do find the grant stone lug to be less industrial looking with that said, and it kind of disappears a when worn. Construction of the boots is fantastic, no stitching issues, lining is spot on and the leather clicking appears to be really good on this pair with initial creasing at the toe being less drastic than other pairs I have.

I find them comfortable, just as much as other sole styles. They provide good traction, which I need now here in the sierra nevadas as it’s getting wet and snowy. I think the design of the lug sole itself is really good because the lugs don’t extend to the edges and that make it less industrial looking. Lastly, I like that the lug sole provides some extra height, I need it.

Final thoughts

Would Recommend

I really like the dark olive color. I’m finding the pair very versatile with my outfits, the construction is quality, and they’re getting more and more comfortable with every wear.
