I wear these for everything from office work to off-trail mountain hikes in the rain. Hot and cold are good, they'll accommodate thick or thin socks.
The tpr seems to scuff off to reveal a beautiful matte grain underneath. I haven't done anything crazy to patina them. They did get a sun tan, mostly below the cuff at first. Break-in has been pretty easy with just a little discomfort. The rolls are developing beautifully with very little or no creasing. A nice orange-brown seems to be slowly coming in over time.
I find 602m last is much wider than other Parkhurst lasts, maybe EEE in the vampire. I carved out insoles from 6mm bends leather and added arch support, so it's 12mm in the heel. The fit is great with all the extra room filled, and the heel counter is high enough that it's not below my heel with the extra lift.
Parkhurst has my favorite patterns and the build quality seems outstanding. They were nicely finished, but not over the top. The speed hooks could be more solid.
Excellent, go-anywhere outsole.
No problems with the heel stack. The top lift is a little thin, looks nice but will need replacement soon.
With the natural horsebutt and the ridgeway-like soles, these are my go-to boots for just about any situation. Comfortable, extremely durable, and ine of the best values out there right now.
