I didn’t hold back. Wore them through a cold and snowy Toronto winter.
With hindsight, I should have got something lighter in colour for a patina competition, but I really like how dark the brown is. It goes with everything.
At first it was a bit tight over the instep, but I wanted that for a loafer, and it broke in to be very comfortable. I expect Alden to have a bit more of an arch, but I should’ve noticed that at the store. Thanks Alden Madison, for the great fitting experience.
Aldens are so good. I was not expecting anything to be poorly done or out of place, and it was not.
I wore these leather soles in places one should not, and they held up admirably.
These were my first pair of Alden loafers, and they did not disappoint. The Van last is kind of flat across the bottom, unlike a Berry or Trubalance, but it works well. Would definitely buy again, and excited to try with other leathers.
