Very good boots for what they cost me, probably won’t be resoled but they’ve served me well

They don’t fit anything like I’d imagine a 7.5 to fit on my feet but I do like a nice snug fit and I’ve stretched them out a fair bit

Why I own this

Ready To Wear
Workplace Needs

I got these boots because my dad had worn a similar pair when he was first joined the military in the 1990s, I chose them because I needed a pair of steel toed and hated modern style boots

How I sized

Munson Last: 7.5E
Sized in Person

I got these in person, they were surplus so I just chose the one I liked the fit of most, I like a pretty tight boot so I went about a full size down from my brannock

Patina Process
Care Routine
Durability

It’s an okay leather, the patina has turned out decent but they’re military dress boots from the 90s, they’re decently durable but designed to be reblackened regularly which I didn’t do, I mainly used Tana Dubbin Wax on these which kept them pretty supple and water hasn’t soaked through the upper at all in my experience

Craftsmanship

Design
Construction

They’re decently constructed, I believe made in the same factories as Corcoran Jump Boots and the construction is very similar to those, the main differences are the outsole, lack of the mid foot strap reinforcement and steel toe

Sole & heel

Durability
Traction

The sole has honestly held up better than any other part of the boot, vibram really know what they’re doing, the only complaints I can think of is that this particular sole is made from an older harder compound than what vibram uses today, as a result they tend to slip a bit on linoleum and stuff like that, but it’s a good hard wearing sole and grips good in mud
