Saw on a Japanese auction a pair of classic military boot in munson last that has an attractive silhouette. Thought of Baker’s x Whites MTO program offering the lesser-seen C461 last that I could combine the look of modern construction and materials and achieving a sleek vintage look. Have not seen this makeup anywhere else.
Having had the opportunity to own their boots in other lasts gives me a sense of how their sizing run. Went with gut feel and glad it fits.
Fairly simple with the multiple options offered on their website
Sparingly worn as I prefer to rotate my footwear. This pair does not patina fast but sure does it gracefully.
CXL by nature is hard-wearing, albeit it invites nicks and scratches easily, it is part of the nature of this leather. Its oily and waxy hence no worry about drying out prematurely. Leather is soft and accommodating and will give with wear.
Fits and looks like a modern military boot
The right pair Has a QC issue where the upper is stretched too much to the medial side of the foot resultingA little disappointed for the high premium pricetag but I’ve come to embrace it as a handsewn handlasted pair with a human (and inevitable error) touch
Added the first sheet of rubber topy myself and did a piss poor job at it. Brought to a more certified person at my local cobbler to install them. No complains on traction and durability
Meant to add onto my growing collection this pair was not originally meant to enter the Dome but the timing of delivery felt right and that I had to rotate with my main Raland boot entry. Though it has not been worn as much as I’d like, it does make me feel good everytime i had them on. I have not seen this makeup anywhere else so, thats a plus :)
