I wanted a tough boot for chores around the house but also ready for urban life. I went for hikes in the forest and nights out to town.
I got great advice from Franks themselves! Also did the research myself and asked questions on social groups like Facebook and Reddit. I belief the best way is to know your own measurements in Brannock and circumferences.
Great experience overal, ordered online and send an email with the customisations I wanted. The customer service was awesome, got everything I wanted!
I worn them to the office, on hikes, into town. Also mowing the lawn and in rain and snow conditions. These boots are build like tanks!
The beautiful leather is a bit stiff at first but the breaking in was not so bad. It’s leather lined to so it took a couple of months for the patina to set in. I think they look amazing worn but not beat down. I used smiths leather balm and red wing leather cream neatfoots blend.
I wear HNW because it gives me enough support, the boots are comfortable and can be worn 12-15 hours without any discomforts. I use darn tough socks and the toe box is more Munson shaped which gives my toes the needed wiggle room.
It’s all A+ for me! I personally want the toughest boots and think Franks makes them the best. Very durable and best construction. With leather lining and McKay stitching they will last! Also the design is awesome, Franks adjusted the HNW fit to accommodate a wider Munson toe box. The green stitching really pops with the veg tan leather!
Awesome sole which walks really nicely with enough grip on all surfaces. It doesn’t wear down quickly and looks good!
I feel that Franks is a maker that listens to the customers and help design the boots you need! My experience has been great and I recommend Franks to anyone that wants to design their own special boots! Boots that go the distance and then some!
