The majority of wear came in the form of work(retail). Wore them every shift for typically 9+ hours. They also accompanied me on plenty of dog walks, date nights, sporting events and even the symphony. Wore them in the small amount of snow my area received and some wet/muddy yard work.
These were pretty comfortable straight away. The resiliency of this leather is something else. Boots took everything I threw at them with flying colors. Scratches and scuffs on each boot show lighter tones of brown. Daily routine was brushing and a wet rag to clean off any dirt that accumulated. No conditioning.
These have a little more volume than I like, but were still very enjoyable to wear. I swapped the provided insoles with some slightly thicker veg tan insoles about halfway through. The shape of this last pushes your big toe and pinky toe inward. I crouch a ton for work and ball alignment in these felt great. Length on these feels fine, maybe a little roomy for my skinny ankles. I’m trying a full size down from brannock on my next pair. Worn with full cushion Darn Tough socks.
PNW brands have a reputation for making tough boots and these are no exception. Stitching on the right boots buckle strap was a little suspect, but held all dome no problem. Got halfway there on CXL lottery, but that’s life, I guess.
This is my first experience with Dr Sole and I must say I’m very impressed. Doesn’t slip on wet surfaces. I probably have about 1500 miles of walking on these soles and feel like they can take double that or even more before needing a resole. Recommended.
Mister Lou lives up to the reputation.
