I work from home, at a desk, and that is most of what these shoes have seen…plus often chasing kids and a dog around the lawn. Really only got them truly dirty once, at a dump in Texas over Christmas. But they took the beating and came back easy the next week.
I am now officially a kudu fan. I will be getting another pair in the near future, maybe in the non-waxed variety. My only gripe is the markings that kudu is known for didn’t feature strongly on this pair. The leather broke in by the second week, and never softened un-uniformally or thinned out. Care was interesting; it responds well to brushing but mixed results with adding conditioners.
The 1035 fits exactly how descriptions online said it would. Up until the last week there were no issues with the toe or heel. Arch support is mediocre at best; they try to improve it with a glued insert that I had to reposition a few times but eventually threw out. They ended up fitting better with the insert removed.
Viberg certainly lived up to their reputation for a high quality build. Stitching was strong and consistent. Left and right were symmetrical. Pattern was laid out nicely and only creased in the toe.
This sole is classic and predictable. A good amount of cushion, stains pretty easily, and makes a dressy shoe (boot?) a bit more casual.
This is not my first Division Road collaboration pair, and I feel like that added some value to the product that isn’t captured elsewhere. Nice packaging on shipment, extra laces, and conditioner included. It’s nice to know the whole supply chain cares about the product.
