I’ve been wearing these everyday since I’ve gotten them(gotta get that patina!). Mostly to work in the office, out shopping with the family, and out walking.
So far the leather color hasn’t changed a ton. I haven’t used any conditioner at all, so any darkening had just been from wear and the environment I’ve worn them in. The break-in has been effortless. Much easier than even some of the thinner leather on Red Wings I own. I can’t attest to the durability, but as thick as the leather is, it should hold up for years and years to come.
I wore Corcoran Jump boots in the Army years ago with Munson last, so I knew when Nicks introduced their Thurman last, that’s what I’d have to get when ordered mine. The toe box has plenty of room for toe movement without the risk of bunching my toes and causing ingrown nails like some shoes/boots do. I do get a slight bit of heel slip, but nothing major. I’m hoping that as the boots break in more, the arch support will become better. The size (13EE) is perfect!
Everything about these boots are perfect. The stitching, lines, and finishing couldn’t be any better. All the materials used are the best of the best.
This is my first time having a pair of boots with this sole. It seems to have decent traction, but if it’s a wet, smooth floor, caution is needed. I expect with the compound used, they will have a long wear life. I wanted something with low profile, so there was not a lot of options available.
The heel seems to be wearing due to the way I walk, but nothing out of the ordinary. Traction is good.
These are my dream boots that I’ve always wanted. I wouldn’t call them a good value per se, but people buying these boots aren’t looking for a value. They are built like a tank, but look good in office. I have several pair of “high end” boots, but these are the first one I’ve ever gotten complements on.
