Why I own this

Limited Release

Style

I looked around for burgundy engineer boots which are obtainable for me and these came up after a lot of research. I knew the Thunderdome 23-24 was right up the corner and these would be a great contestant, so I bought them.

How I sized

Online Guide

I asked the owner of Sko Uno for guidance and he told me that 44 would be too small and 45 too large. After buying too small shoes/boots in prior years, I decided to go with size 45. I agree with him that 45 is a hair too big, but thick socks almost entirely fixed the problem.

These beauties have been worn to a variety of occasions, whether it was for more formal wear or as work boots (setting up event places) . Overall, they have been fantastic in winter and summer temperatures while keeping rain out during the changing seasons.

Care Routine
Durability

It is my second time for Horween CXL, first C8. It is just fantastic looks and maintenance wise. They have been conditioned three or four times over the year and developed a slow patina for my use case. Some scratches here and there, but the leather takes a beating very well. When looking dull, a quick shine worked wonders.

Satisfied with the Fit

I have not noticed any big changes since the last review. Again, it now only fits well when paired with thick socks, just a hair too big overall. Toes have plenty of room, arch gets some support, instep gets held quite well and there is some heel slip. Comfort is quite good, even though I should try some new removable insoles for my orthodics or leather ones. Long days do not hurt my feet as much compared to flatter shoes.

Finishing
Clicking

I love the pattern of them. Construction could be lacking for some, but it's good for me. If you have handled spanish Cowboy boots, you know the construction and finish. Cannot complain about it really. Nor is the clicking bad😄 They developed the faintest of rolls.

Final thoughts

Would Recommend
Good Value

If I had to grab one pair of shoes/boots out of a burning house, it would be these. I highly recommend them if you live in Europe and do not feel sure about spending more than 500€ on boots. If you already own a higher end engineer boot, these might disappoint you. But just might.
