These fit and feel amazing! Most comfortable boots I own by far and I knew it the moment I tried these on. I’ve got high arches and high insteps and for whatever reason this last just works for my feet! It’s got a bit more arch support than the 2030.

So far these have not been worn a ton as they are not my Thunderdome boots, however I am looking forward to wearing them a TON come spring. They are absolute stitchdown tanks!
As mentioned, I haven’t worn these a ton yet so I cannot say how they have patina’d or worn. What I can say is that they required virtually no break in and felt supple and comfortable the moment I bought these boots. Supple, yet I have no doubt these will be very durable as the leather is quite thick and feels very nice.
These are hands down the most comfortable boots I’ve ever tried on and owned. I knew it the moment I tried them on. I’ve heard conflicting info about the 2040 last and whether or not it is good for people with high arches and a high instep. I have high arches and a high instep and these support my arches much more than the 2030 last. They feel perfect. My feet feel absolutely locked in, in a good way. I have plenty of room in the toe box. The heel feels slightly narrower than the 2030 and hugs my heels very nicely. When I wear these and walk in them my feet do not move around AT ALL. They just feel absolutely solid underfoot. Not at all loose, but not at all too tight. Just a perfect fit.
I love the design of most Viberg boots and these are no exception. Looking down at the 2040 last is really nice as it looks very streamlined and well thought out. The double row stitching of the stitchdown construction is extremely tight and nice to look at. From the back, the heels look quite streamlined and elegant even though this is a hefty boot. This is also due to the 270 degree stitchdown construction. There is no stitching around the heels to make things bulky.
These soles seem to be extremely durable (more time will tell). They’re not my favorite as they pick up just about everything, including tons of tiny rocks which can be difficult and annoying to pick out. They do what they’re supposed to do, but I won’t be getting anymore boots with this sole. I prefer something like a Vibram 700 or something from Dr. Sole. Half soles would be better too as I think they’re more aesthetically pleasing. I will say that underfoot these feel extremely solid.
Basically same thoughts here as with the soles.
These are amazing boots. Viberg is really tough to beat. I’m looking forward to wearing these a lot more in 2025.
