These boots are mainly going to be worn around a mechanics shop as well as for hiking and general outdoor activities
The leather is nice and thick and pleasurably firm, the outer brownish red layer scuffs off fairly easily exposing a bright reddish yellowy orange color all the way through the grain
I have to admit I was quite pleasantly surprised with the fit of these boots, I was initially worried about the somewhat low looking arch and entirely unsprung toe but it fits my feet incredibly well and there’s plenty of room for even my thickest wool socks all the while providing excellent support, the feeling when you first put them on can most accurately be compared to lacing up a pair of hockey skates
I really like the design of these, they’re not very sleek or refined but they’re work boots so they shouldn’t really be, they’re big and bulky and exceptionally well made
I have had most of my other experience with heritage style boots almost exclusively in true vintage pairs, and i can truthfully say I had no idea that a Vibram sole was actually supposed to be this soft provide this much grip and squish, not that I’m complaining, the grip on these keeps me absolutely planted
I’m incredibly excited to keep on wearing these and breaking them in, the value is incredible and it would be difficult to find a better boot for less than double the cost of these
