Tricker's
Grassmere Country Boot
A Fine Pair Of Shoes
I liked the color and style. I wanted to try and see how it does long term under daily use. And it's been great, from hiking, working at the nuclear plant, going out to dinner, brewing beer, to playing with the dog!
Trickers boots are similar in sizing with other UK manufacturers. So I pretty much knew my sizing if you have other UK boots. Plus there are boot forums online to help. No modifications were made.
Good, online store had a sale going on. No vat tax and the US dollar is strong against the British pound.
Daily use doing everything. Hiking, brewing, working at the power plant, dog exercising, going out on the town. It did it all and looks good doing it.
No break in. The kudo leather is extremely soft and forms to your feet almost immediately. It holds up well to wear. Care routine is to brush it daily if possible, apply leather conditioner every 2 months, and use cedar shoe trees when not wearing.
The 4497S last is true to size and fits comfortably with ample room in the toes. The sole is a ridgeway style and grips well on all types of terrain except on ice. Very good on gravel but a little hard on your feet on cement. Trickers makes well crafted boots.
Trickers has done very well on the the design and construction. The finishing is top notch and have no complaints. Just know that the kudo leather does have some marking but that is the style and I like that it makes my boots unique.
Traction is good. Grips well in all terrain except ice. A little hard on cement for extended periods.
I really like the Trickers last and the kudo leather is great! It's easy to take care of, very comfortable and looks good after 6 months of wear. It's my goto pair for every day use!
