I've worn these to jobsites. Mostly casually and indoor jobs. Crazy how much attention these attract.
Over dyed horsehides been very nice. Thick and hold rolls well. Only downfall is that the black dye wore off quickly. Most of the time they are dirty and dusty all month long. Then I clean them up for pics and I see the rich color.
Second pair of Briselblacks. These are half a size too long. The split barley splits the big toe. Wish it was deeper like they should be. I'm asked often if they are comfortable. Highly comfortable. But I grew up with similar footwear. Plus I wear flip flops often. I do prefer a higher arch. But these are plenty comfortable. Dozens of interactions with complete strangers.
The left shoe would weeze in the split toe when new. Contacted brisleblack if this was a common issue. Plus if there was a fix. Not many have been made if any. We agreed to see if it changed to start trying some options. But either I got used to it or it went away. I don't recall hearing it after the forst month. My japanese grandfather had multiple footwear with this design. So did many of my family members. So when I saw these I new I would love to give these a try. Very happy I did.
Soles have been bullet proof. Very happy with the way they have held up.
From first wear to last week's wear. Everyday there would be someone asking what are those. It really was a oddity to the public. Complete strangers. Men, women and freinds. Such a attention magnet. Great conversation starter. I'm rather polite and smily guy. So I'm easy to approach. Crazy that even strangers asked " what the fuck are you wearing?" Mostly freinds and family that have that conversation. It's been a great fun time wearing these boots. I most likely won't see my 2 contest boots for a month or so. My twin tends to borrow post contest boots.
