Wore them on hikes, around town, to work and driving the car. Basically everywhere but the gym. They've been rained on, snowed on, sin shined on them and they've handled it great.

Color Change

Leather was very, very stiff out of the box. Took about a month and a half for it to really soften up. At this point they're very supportive but otherwise fit like a glove. WC Latigo is almost the perfect boot leather. They changed from being nearly orange to a nice light brown after 6 months. I conditioned them once in January with Smith's leather balm. The leather drank it up like a sponge but at this point it still feels like it won't need it again for a while.

Satisfied with the Fit

The 55 is an extremely comfortable last. It's not exactly anatomical by design, but when broken in, gives in all the right places. The arch jabs into your foot for the first few weeks but it eventually eased up and conformed perfectly to my feet.

Lining

I'm not ultra picky. I noticed no flaws whatsoever on these boots out of the box. They have held up great and if they're representative of typical White's then any reputation of poor finishing is totally undeserved. They seem basically flawless in construction to me. I would like it if they were lined, but that's not an option with Wickett & Craig boots from White's. I have another pair in Chromexcel that are fully lined, and the lining makes the shaft stand up much better.

Traction

V-Tread is a good choice for everyday use, but lacks traction for hiking. I think when it comes time for resole I'll probably be switching to some version of the commando.

Good Value

Great choice! Pricey, but supportive, durable, look good, comfortable and long lasting!
