I really become a fan of engineers due to the convenience of being able to ship them on and go, so I had been on the lookout for a pair for this year’s Thunderdome. I love a sleek toe and so when I saw this model from Fortis I knew it was the one for me. I also really liked a few of the other details such as the signature loop stitch of Fortis, as well as the heel that had a less close cut shelf. We talked back and forth on details and when it came down to leather I decided to go with a local Indonesian leather as since my pair was Indonesian made, I wanted them to fully represent what the country can do. I know the local leather tends to be looked down upon but I wanted to show what it could do, that it can patina well, and I like to think I did that. I chose a leather sole as I dance a lot, and leather soles are the best option for that and they were a fantastic pair to dance.

I did a teaching of my foot, measured my foot around in various spots, as well as gave them my brannock and was sized as a 42.5 eu size which translated to a 9 US according to Fortis, so a half size down from my brannock of 9.5z

Customer Service

Buying these boots from Fortis was really smooth, I submitted my order through their Instagram, much like most other Indonesian brands. I paid $450 shipped, half at start, half upon completion, and I was quoted 8-10 weeks when I ordered them and received them in 11 weeks. I would have received them sooner however, Sany was not satisfied with the first pair he made me, and due to some feedback he received, he decided to make me a second pair with modifications to the construction methods. He gave me the initial pair at no cost along side the new and improved version I am reviewing. Having with the initial pair I found them to be fantastic as well, and would have been happy to receive them for what I paid, but Sany is a very passionate individual who seems to really care about what he puts out and the second pair that was made is a definite improvement. The customer service that Fortis provided was incredible, and really won me over before I even received my pair.
