I am the boot and shoemaker at Poor Boy Soles Bespoke Shoe Co. For years (started in 2003), I wanted to design my own monkey boot. Going "pro" seven (and a bit) years ago, I had the opportunity to create my own pattern and build these beautiful boots on a set of vintage 1928 Munson style wood lasts.Q&A
Why did you choose this item?
As a boot maker, I always wanted to design my own Monkey Boot. I had the opportunity to do so after "going pro" seven years (and a bit) ago and waited for a few years before producing them, waiting for the right leather, sole and heel combination.
How did you determine your size?
As the boot maker, I took the necessary measurements and then selected the last from my collection.
What was the ordering process?
It was pretty simple. I asked myself, "Self, is it time to make these kick ass boots?" and surprisingly, my answer was, "Yes, yes, it is. Also, a pastrami sandwich would be nice..."
