More rock and roll with every wear… too bad they don’t make these in an unstructured toe

TLDR- For the price, I think they are a great boot. But, they don’t match a few personal preferences I have and the look feels a bit unrefined overall… like the designers went for “good enough” instead of perfection. But, they are very rock and roll now that they are all scuffed up. First, I do appreciate that the toe box is curved so you have a more natural break instead of an unnatural straight line across your foot, but I still hate structured toe boxes. I just think the structure ruins the natural creases a boot gets over time. I can tolerate the look of them with a toe cap because those have a natural break point, but my toes always feel trapped. I’m not sure I’d buy another boot with a structured toe unless it’s a seldomly worn dress shoe. Second, the square toe is a bit too western for me… kind of like a roper boot, there’s just something “off” about the toe shape when matched with the refinement of a whole-cut Chelsea. A more pointed toe would be a better match in my opinion. I’ve always wanted to give Thursdays a try but I just don’t love the way their boots look. This is the only one I think looks ok, and even still it’s a bit off to my tastes. But, I will admit that they do pair very well with my slim jeans and as they get more scuffed, they just look more and more rock and roll… kinda like a haggard old rocker, a Keith Richards vibe if you will. With the waxed suede, I can’t really dress them up like when they were fresh, so that’s an interesting juxtaposition with the square toe box and wholecut look. I’ll still wear them for quick jaunts, but the toe box rub means I won’t pick these for long walks.
