Wild Frontier Goods Frontier Bifold Wallet

I wanted something in shell with some artistry to it, as I’ve only ever owned boring black leather wallets. WFG’s work with natural dyes (especially kakishibu) caught my eye bought for the natural look and patina potential. He has a number of different models, but the bifold seemed best suited to my varied carrying needs. I wanted a matching belt, wallet, and keyring that would pull in the orange hues from my medium brown leather boots (and someday jacket), and I love the way kakishibu gives an almost wooden appearance.

Reached out to Mike via WFG’s Instagram and shared some past work as inspiration along with the specifics of what I wanted. He was amazing to work with and suggested to switch out the inner leather I’d originally requested with this cowhide to show more patina (and save some money vs natural shell).
