My previous work boots came with a rubber cap toe, and I wore through it completely. I thought about it before entering the Dome with a new pair of (fancy) boots. I didn't want to do this, but I'm afraid I'll have to add some kind of toe protection. Regardless of the Dome, I want my boots to last, and a hole in the front would pretty much render them useless. I thought about Tuff Toe since it's pretty much an industry standard to umprove boot longevity, but I just don't like the look. I'm considering putting one of those glue-on rubber guards (bumper) that I hope I'll be able to remove at some point and when the time comes to re sole, I'll do a complete boot conversion removing the steel toe and adding a leather toe cap (roughout), hence covering whatever residues might be left from the bumper.
