More about this item

These are a pair of custom Turbo Vellies straight from the Jim Green custom builder. I went with the Turbo Vellie because it’s apse that isn’t sold state-side which is unique. The key bits of customization are adding the red stitching throughout, an extra eyelet, and a cap toe on a model that usually doesn’t have one. I was trying to mirror a pair of unbranded boots I own that are lace to toe in brown just with the roughout and smooth panels flipped.

Style

Like I mentioned in a previous section I wanted these to mirror another pair of boots that I already owned. I want these particular boots to be super versatile something that could be worn in a more formal setting, worn every day at work (I’m a baker as of now) or just to kick around casually.

Community Advice

I tried to use my best judgement based on YouTube advice with Jim Green lasts but I realize now that I either should have gone with my true size in the ASHM last or just stuck with the old dependable JG last when I’m going a half size down from my brannock.

Ordering process

Purchased from Jim Green FootwearTotal cost: 249 USD Lead time: 2 months

Ordered online and it took about two months. I accidentally wrote in the wrong address but luckily the address I put in didn’t really exist and DHL was surprisingly helpful with getting the package to the correct destination.
