Pig Suede

Cowboy Boot
I wanted to create a design that used the visual language and compositional balance of my favorite western boots of the 40s and 50s, but given new context by pairing it with a more geometric motif. These are intended to be an everyday knockabout pair, and feature my state flower, the California Poppy. In retrospect, these probably would’ve gotten more wear during the contest if I’d built them on a slightly lower heel, and I intend adjust the height in due time, but never quite got around to it over the course of the ‘dome. No matter, I’m sure I’ll wear these for many years to come and they’ll get their time to shine. The leather has held up great and I’m sure the pig suede will continue to gain new depths with the years and miles.
