Initially quite stiff with a totally inflexible sole. They felt big and I wasn’t sure they would work out.

I have low volume feet with high arches that are narrow, but require a wide to a box. Because I have neuroma, I need to splay my toes out. These are probably my best fitting boots. I wear all my boots with a cork half orthotic. I can get away with wearing relatively thin socks on these, even though that makes the boots quite roomy. They’re still very comfortable. If I wear thick socks, I fill them out just right. My feet are rather straight and like all men’s last that I know of these curve a bit towards the inside, meaning I have a little more room than I need on the big toe side and I could still use a little more room on the pinky side. But overall a great fit that I think is very versatile And it would work for most people, even though with fairly wide feet.

I don’t think that the rambler soles ever went into production. I got these from the factory store website. Initially, I thought they were extremely strange and was planning on resoling them. They’re a lightweight hard plastic essentially. When I first got them, it felt like I was walking around in bicycle cleats. Incredibly stiff and very slippery on slick surfaces. But they did break in and I actually really like them. They’re lightweight but very sturdy and supportive. The grip is generally not a problem at all unless you’re on a very hard slick surface. For example, if you’re hiking and you step on a damp tree room or maybe a vary smooth rock. They do grip sidewalks very well and sandy terrains as well which is mostly what you would encounter if you’re hiking in Los Angeles.Shop similar
