These 6 months really flew by! I found myself wondering how the dome was already over, and stopping to clean up the welt, brush and take photos really helped me to reflect on the journey. I really love how the waxed flesh shows off parts of life that were extended rather than short lived. They don’t show the nicks or scratches I got when I wiped out in the ice over the winter. But you can see the two months that I had the lace them one speed hook from the top because of how stiff the leather started. You can see the slight addition of indigo to the backstay from my new jeans that I started wearing during the dome. In some ways, waxed flesh reminds me of my own journey. The things that I do intentionally over time make a large impression, but the things that are short lived fade into the background. Thank you Stitchdown, what an amazing experience!
