Chukka #2
I just like chukkas. The first well constructed shoe that tickled something in my brain was a vintage camel desert boot with thick leather and massive crepe soles. It is only natural to come back to this style for me I'd say.
I made them on the fly, when I had nothing else to do. Wanted to wear them on a buddies wedding, but I contracted covid.... Fml. Price is only materials!
Spare time use, retail work use, sometimes a walk in the park.
It didn't really change much. It got softer, got some wrinkles but held up amazingly well. It will considerably darken with sun exposure, as I have a patch on my sewing machine that gets constant sun through the window. It makes for very comfortable boots, as most fat leathers do. Soft and supple.
It is all excellent, of course. ;)
Thin but functional. Grippy but elegant.
I maybe wouldn't have needed a second pair. They didn't see that much use so this year I will focus on making one pair of boots or shoes.
