I wore these for the open dome so I primarily wore them to the office and on walks. There was one muddy day that I wore them and they did really well. I tested them in standing water and they didn't leak very fast at all so I think they can work as work boots after the dome too.
The uppers were badalassi cognac and they were sort of stiff even to the end with sharp creases. It makes for an interesting look but can cause some sharp points when bending. The lowers were a local roughout bison and it seems great. The color change on the badalassi was nice as well. I didn't have to do much care for these at all.
I would suggest you add a few centimeters to your measurements when fortis asks for them as these were right on the money and too tight for thicker socks. The last is very comfortable and reminds me of the pnw 55.
The craftsmanship on these is what stands out the most. The stitching on the uppers and the welt stiching are very impressive. The clicking seems to match exactly with each other which is a great thing as well. I custom chose the leathers and asked for a single piece backstay and all of that was completed with perfect execution.
This sole was nice, low profile half sole thst has traction enough to be used as awork boot after the dome is over.
I really enjoyed these boots and got alot of comments on them when I was wearing them i designed them to be a nice looking boot that I could wear in the field as well and I think I'll do so after the dome . I plan to sue fortis again for next dome because I think their boots have so much character. The price is a great value too
