Stumbled upon their instagram and was impressed by their boots. The pricing made it possible to get my feet into a handstitched boot without selling my car 🙌🏼
How did you determine your size?
Once you DM them on insta to place your order, Suny will send several videos walking you through tracing and taking several measurements of your feet / ankle.
What was the ordering process?
Ordered on Instagram; this was a new process for me but straight forward enough. I will say; be patient, I do think they over promise in terms of completion / shipping time. I waited approx 4 months for these, so not bad! They mostly responded quickly when I had questions. I think it is worth mentioning that this is the second pair. The first pair were the Tapak 2 and while they were beautiful boots there was a slight delamination issue (cosmetic). I sent photos to Suny, mostly so that he could advise a fix. Instead; he told me to keep the first pair and made / sent me an entire new set of boots at no additional cost to me. He also decided to correct a minor fit issue on the first pair by changing the last on the second pair. Absolutely blown away by the customer service!
Use & wear
First wear was yesterday and it was great! Excited to see what these boots do as they break in and change.
Fit
These are the best fitting boots I have ever worn. I sent Fortis the measurements they suggest via their video instructions. Zero heel slip. The first pass through was snug but didn’t require the “plastic bag” trick. Stoked!
Craftsmanship
The construction and finishing is top notch on these boots. This last works really well for me. I have worn their Tapak 2.0 and while a very cool, sleek build—the Yudistira engineer on the pandawa last really works for my feet and looks great. All the usual details with Fortis; stitched design on backstay, original buckles, etc.
Final thoughts
The ordering takes place on instagram and their team is *mostly* responsive. The ordering process is pretty easy, with about a 3-4 month lead. The value on these boots is wild! Definitely getting your moneys worth and more. Suny really cares about the artisanship of his craft and it shows.
