Same as last dome, working on wood flooring, occasional yard work, wood shop, clearing woods, etc. I'm not super hard on boots so these definitely hold up to anything I throw at them.
This leather is great. Of course Frank's lines the uppers on all non work leathers so they're still very stiff where they need to be. Though they were pretty much broken in from last year's dome, the process continued albeit at a much lower rate. For this round I've only brushed them, but the vamps probably need a coat of neatsfoot oil after this, so I'll do a full saddle soap cleaning after the final photo shoot.
Unfortunately I ordered this pair in half a size too short. Clearly they're still wearable since I've even been able to wear them for a whole year without any pain. But it is a little annoying when my toes bump the front. I've also had to remove the sock liners and add custom ones that give me more arch feel. It was a learning experience trying to dial in my size but hey, that's life.
You'll be hard pressed to find someone dogging on the craftsmanship of a pair of Frank's. Mistakes may happen on a pair of handmade boots but these were perfect. What else can I say, you can't go wrong with Frank's!
I adore these soles. They look good, they have just the right amount of squish, they seem to wear great, it's just a good all around mix of comfort and durability.
This is one of my favorite pairs for obvious reasons, despite my sizing mistake. After I ran these in the last dome I pretty much put them on a shelf and didn't touch them until this new category was introduced. So this has been cool to see what a year long dome would have been like with this pair. This previously worn category was a fantastic idea.
