I had an idea for a brogued monkey for a while, and once Frank's told me they would make me one using the original prototype pattern, I jumped on it. These turned out great, but there are a few changes I wanted, so I'll likely have a similar pair made in the future. Love these tho, tied for 1st with my other Frank's monkeys in my collection. That single piece backstay with brogued outline is amazing!
I'm constantly in some boot groups on Facebook, and comparing boot maker's notes on sizing. Kinda winged it on my fist pair and did led it in from there. Risky, but, it paid off.
I actually got to talk to Frank's wife and Frank himself directly on this build. I felt very special. Lol. Love them.
Nearly everyday since I entered them in the contest. I injured my neck a month in and have been out of work since then, so they have mostly been worn doing chores around my mom's ranch and my normal daily activities. So, not much pavement.
The Dublin held up incredibly, it broke through a lot of ice and hard snow pack for a month there or so. I brush them quite often, but haven't used any product on them yet, still very supple. They are still very supportive, especially with the stiff leather liners that Frank's uses. Light scuffs can just be rubbed away, but the underlying lighter tone is amazing!
The 4811 seems to fit a lot like the 55 last, just with a slightly higher and more rounded off toebox. I love a lot of arch buildup.
Frank's kills it, just don't expect absolute perfection in detail, tho they are typically very good with detail as well for a handmade work boot company. Absolute tanks as far as durability in construction goes also
I have quite a few boots with this sole, they hold up great, I have no idea when I'll need to resole any of them. This pair didn't see much cement or pavement either, so they still have tons of life left. Not great traction , but far from the worst I've experienced. Even in a slide they are very controllable, especially with the big lug of a heel

Frank's are my favorite, absolute beast of a boot, and virtually infinite customization. Great customer service as well.
