I wanted a nice belt that would match my open dome boots, this is close in color but perfect however it’s a really well made belt and I’ll wear it the duration of the dome.
I had ordered this belt with the snap to swap out buckles but I got the fixed buckled version. I contacted the manufacturer and they gave me a partial refund and kind regards so I’m not displeased.
I wore this belt every day this thunder dome paired with either my Drew’s Contractors or Custom Whites’s and it kept my pants up no problem. I did lose a little weight over the course of the dome and I’m now on the last hole but it still fits well. I wore the belt to work, the grocery store, the veterinarians office, in the snow, in the heat, and in the pool when I fell in fully clothed. It’s held up excellently yet it hasn’t changed much, I’m sure it’ll have lots left to offer.
The leather hasn’t changed too much it doesn’t seem, it’s a very oily tannage and when scuffed or scraped a wipe of the thumb generally does the trick to get the color uniform. Over the last six months it’s developed a nice sheen and darkened ever so slightly with some burnishing along the edges, not quite shined to the degree of my Drew’s but it still pairs nicely. Overall I’ve enjoyed the leather, it’s held its form and kept my shirt tucked with my pants up so I’d say it’s a solid belt. I just hit the belt with a horsehair brush every once in a while and that’s it.
I really enjoy the robust leather of the belt and the hardware is nice high quality USA made brass that has started to slowly brown and patina. Overall a well made belt with evenly spaced holes and solid hardware to last me a good while longer.
I have enjoyed wearing this belt, it’s a very simple piece that didn’t drastically change but it provided excellent durability and functionality. I can tell it will continue to be a great addition to my wardrobe.
