Why did you choose this item?
Learned about the brand Jim Green through last years contest. My husband and me decided on buying a matching pair.
How did you determine your size?
I used the brannock scale for last years boot which fit pretty well (nicks boot). I went with the same sizing but bought Jim Green.
What was the ordering process?
Customer service was great! I had to get a smaller size not listed on the online drop down and it was easy to add the request. I was surprised the boots showed up faster than expected especially for a fully custom boot.
Use & wear
Walking, normally weekly grocery shopping trips and errands, did a 10k marathon in January, exploring the new city we moved to (moved from Houston Tx to Mérida Mexico).
Leather
Great durability! Color darkened especially on the front toe area. The shoes were breathable and in the super hot weather in Mérida kept my feet temperature surprisingly good. I didn’t do much for care besides an occasional dry brushing.
Fit
Sizing was great and loved that I was able to customize for a wide toe box. There isn’t much of an arch in the shoe but that’s great for me because I don’t need arch support. I have really high arches and I prefer boots that lace up because I have a high instep. I did prefer a medium thick sock worked best for the boot and the hot weather.
Craftsmanship
Loved the green laces with the bronco leather color. This leather wore nicely. The boot was durable and construction is holding up great. No issues with the boot.
Sole & heel
The only caution regarding the sole is to be careful when it’s wet outside and you are on tile or marble like surfaces. Comfort and durability of the sole was good and great for everyday walking.
Final thoughts
I loved my Jim Greens. My husband and I both got matching Jim Greens for the contest. This is our second year participating in the Patinadome. If it wasn’t for the contest last year I would have never learned about so many other boot brands across the world. Thank you for giving such a great platform and thank you Jim Green for producing a great quality boot. This was my first Jim Green purchase and I will definitely recommend the brand.
