Good wide toe box for a more natural toe splay. Leather held up well to a good wash and wax.

    Tried On

The STC last of the normal African rangers was just a tad too small (I wear the largest size they sell in the US). The JG last had just enough toe length room and an ample toe box width.

They would take a beating and show signs of wear easily. Would need to wash out water stains with vinegar semi-often. Very easy break in though, and they did darken up but not too bad.

    Too Little Volume

No arch to speak of, but some delta arches from Nicks provided enough support. Wide toe box made for a great fit for my wide feet. Light cushioning. My Flintstone feet would’ve enjoyed a bit more volume but it wasn’t a deal breaker.

For a budget boot I feel like you really get your moneys worth. The leather could be thicker but as far as construction, stitching, and durability they are knocking on the doors of more expensive PNW boots.

I prefer a bit more cushioning but these held up just fine. And for a wedge sole they have a sleek look imo.

    Final thoughts

    Good Value
    Would Recommend

For the price you can’t beat the construction and durability in my humble opinion. And the wide toe box makes for a more anatomically correct boot.
