Why did you choose this item?
I needed an “every day” shoe that could be resoled and this fits the bill perfectly.
How did you determine your size?
Honestly I traced my foot and the recommended size seemed bigger than I normally wear. So I put the information into ChatGPT then input the sizes of the boots I have in my collection (7 1/2 E - 8D) and ChatGPT told me to get an 8 based on the information I provided. It gave details about the lasts used in my other brands compared to JG and everything.
What was the ordering process?
I ordered from Amazon because I figured if I did get the wrong size it would take less than 24 hours to get the correct size back (order new pair and send old ones back). I have a trip coming up and was in a bit of a rush. I plan on ordering the next pair direct.
Use & wear
The insole has a bit more cushioning than I’m accustomed to. However, they’re very comfortable.
Leather
I conditioned them with Leather Honey on day one and personally love the way they turned out. I can’t wait to see how they break in and patina over time.
Fit
They fit and feel like an 8D. I sometimes wear a 7 1/2 E with other brands. So they’re spot on.
Craftsmanship
Very satisfied with the look and finish
Sole & heel
The sole is comfortable when walking. The longest walk has only been three miles but it felt fine.
Final thoughts
These are a great value and I highly recommend them. I’m probably going to order a custom pair in buffalo at some point.
